Keep it fun
Betting should be entertainment, never a way to make money or to solve money problems. Only stake what you can comfortably afford to lose.
Simple rules
- Set a budget and a time limit before you start — and stick to them.
- Never chase losses.
- Do not bet when you are upset, tired or have been drinking.
- Never borrow money to gamble.
- Take regular breaks, and keep other hobbies and friends in your life.
Warning signs
- Spending more money or time than you planned.
- Betting to win back what you lost.
- Hiding your gambling from people close to you.
- Feeling anxious, irritable or guilty about gambling.
- Neglecting work, study or family because of it.
